Jewish Heritage
Morocco was once home to the largest Jewish community in the Islamic world. Explore this tradition as part of your private tour.
Morocco’s ancient Jewish community represents centuries of coexistence. King Mohammed VI has funded restoration of synagogues and cultural sites as spaces of dialogue. Morocco’s rich Jewish heritage has left a legacy woven into the fabric of Morocco’s cuisine, music and scholarship. Today’s community is a proud link to the Moroccan-Jewish diaspora abroad.
In countless cities and towns, you will find a mellah, or jewish quarter, often near the Royal Palace. The Mellah of Fes offers a glimpse of two beautifully restored synagogues, the Ibn Dnan and the Al Fassayin.
